The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with several of the title's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms.
Players have started using tailored sessions made via the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how demanding these challenges have become.
Assignments are Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four categories of assignments, but while the majority merely grant skins and a few gadgets, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one main guns available in the game.
Several of these restricted firearms might eventually find their way on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Over on Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
"This challenge is so awful and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it lacks nearly as many positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and only works at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
A different forum member brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:
This is difficult enough on its own, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine maps in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, another expansive area, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you want to snipe from over 200m away.
Nevertheless, a method exists: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the intended gameplay experience.
But when tackling the tasks in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for grinding them out in a custom game so teammates aren't hindered?
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
For now, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, hoping for a less arduous player experience in future updates.
