Labuschagne finds himself omitted from Australia's three-game ODI series against India, as in-form Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw getting a shock call-up.
Selectors dropped Labuschagne from the one-day international squad after scoring just one run in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. Labuschagne has a best innings of forty-seven in his last 10 ODI batting appearances.
The batsman has played 68 one-day internationals and accumulated 1,871 ODI runs at an average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now continue to press his claims a Test recall ahead of the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.
Recent performances suggest of a return to form with 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw made a century for the Bulls in the same game against Tasmania.
Renshaw could to make his first white-ball appearance in the upcoming series against India after his last inclusion in an ODI squad in 2022.
The left-hander has played 14 Test matches with the last coming in India in 2023 but is also aiming for a return to the Test team as Australia look for a solution to their top-order woes.

“The bulk of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an crucial phase in the build towards the T20 World Cup next year, however we are aiming to find equilibrium to ensure we simultaneously get ready certain individuals for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India commences on October 19 in Perth, before the opponents play five T20 internationals from 29 October.
